Top of the World Provincial Park (Map 16,24) The high alpine setting makes this park a spectacular hiking destination with the Hughes Range forming the backdrop to the west and the Van Nostrand Range dominated by Mount Morro, at 2,912 metres, framing the east. Since most of its terrain is above the 2,200 metre (7,200 ft) level, the numerous hiking opportunities do not become accessible until early June or after November (for backcountry skiers). Fish Lake is the hub of the park and has a cabin as well as numerous designated campsites, accessed by an easy 6.7 km (4.2 mi) trail. From here, trails lead to Coyote Creek (7 km/4.3 mi), Sparkle Lake (2.8 km), Wildhorse Ridge (3.2 km/2 mi) and beyond. Be prepared for all types of weather and have proper backcountry supplies.
