Industry-leading topographic relief and shading ensure that you know exactly what to expect from the terrain, with clearly marked changes in elevation and natural features such as wetlands and glaciers.

Many of the snowmobile trails highlighted on the maps are supplemented with detailed written descriptions compiled by our team of outdoor writers and researchers. These descriptions include information on access to trailheads and staging areas, routes, trail length and elevation gain, difficulty, highlights and more. Each description includes easy reference numbers to the maps found in the front of the book.

Goose Creek Snowmobile Area (Map 2/G1–11/F7)
Goose Creek is one of the Castlegar area’s most family-friendly destinations. There are easy, groomed trails that lead you past two warming huts and into the alpine. The parking area and trailhead is found along Goose Creek Road, turning left off Pass Creek Road at km 15. From here, it is a 10.5 km (6.5 mi) ride to Frosty’s Cabin, gaining 1,100 m (3,610 ft) of elevation. This cabin sleeps four and can be booked by visiting csasled.org/frostys-cabin. Alternately, it is a 14 km (8.7 mi) ride to Shaw’s Cabin. From there it is possible to link up with the Ladybird and Norns trail system, adding up to over 50 km (31 mi) of trails to explore.
