These durable, spiral bound 21.5 x 28 cm (8.5 x 11 in) Mapbooks show you every creek, stream, river and lake in a particular region or province, complete with notable features such as campsites and boat launches, plus bays, fjords, inlets and passages in coastal areas. Industry-leading topographic relief and shading ensure that you know exactly what to expect from the terrain around a particular lake or river, with clearly marked changes in elevation and natural features such as wetlands and glaciers.

Many of the lakes and rivers are labelled with both stocked and native fish species, and our unparalleled road and trail coverage shows you exactly how to access your fishing hole, whether by logging road, multi-use trail, bushwhack, paddle or portage.

Many of the fishing hot spots shown on the maps are supplemented with detailed written descriptions compiled by our team of outdoor writers and researchers. These descriptions include information on access, species, stocking, resorts, amenities, campsites, regulations, restrictions and more. In many of the listings, we also let you know which portion of a lake or river to target, plus which method of fishing will be most effective, from shore casting to trolling and fly-fishing.

SAMPLE OF WRITTEN DESCRIPTION:

Trout Lake (Map 28/A2–E5)
There are probably about a dozen Trout Lakes scattered about the province. This one is one of the biggest, at 2,874 hectares (7,100 ac) and likely produces the biggest fish with the mighty Gerrard rainbow occasionally tipping the scales in the 9 kg (20 lb) range. It also has a healthy population of bull trout, which can get up to 4 kg (9 lbs). Both species are best caught on a deep troll using a plug or Flatfish in April to May or again in September to October. The lake is also home to smaller populations of burbot, kokanee and whitefish. The best access points are at either the north end from town or the south end of the lake. Portions of the lake are closed for spawning purposes so check the regulations before heading out.
