Egan Chute (Map 55/D6)
This is an impressive spot to visit as long as you don’t miss the turn. Found about 10 km east of Bancroft on Hwy 28, if you cross the bridge over the York River, you’ve just missed it. A trail runs along the river from the parking area and the chute is actually a series of drops as the water cascades down a height of 4 m (13 ft). The upper section is split by an island while the lower portion features a small gorge. Visitors can get up close as there are no fences, but caution is required.
