With a background in geology, mining and surveying, Farah brings a wealth of knowledge to the work that she does – and it shows. Responsible for the GIS “heavy lifting,” she manages the larger spatial data sets to help create, polish and build bigger content. The data that Farah creates goes towards Backroad Mapbooks’ GPS maps and can later be used for print products.

Farah completed her studies at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) before joining the team at Backroad Mapbooks. About GIS work, she says, “I really love what I do.” She shares that she receives genuine pleasure from performing advanced GIS analyses and improving her spatial database administration skills.
