WE HAVE A NEW WEBSITE!

PRESS RELEASE – Backroad Mapbooks, the Canadian publishing company best known nationwide for its backcountry, fishing and GPS maps and guides announced today that it has officially launched a new website and corporate identity (www.backroadmapbooks.com). According to Russell Mussio, the company’s president and co-founder, the new website and brand refresh are more closely aligned with the company’s strategic vision for growth and expansion over the next decade, and beyond.

“We’ve come really far in expanding our product line to include GPS maps and a navigation app,” Mussio comments. “For 20 years we’ve had a solid fan base, and now that we’re covering the growing market of GPS maps, that fan base is growing along with us. Our new website and corporate identity reflect the direction that we’ve moved in – towards being the go-to source for all things map and outdoor recreation related.”

The new Backroad Mapbooks website features a modern, breathable design, clear navigation for a user-friendly shopping experience, and interactive content. Visitors can easily browse the company’s line of backcountry maps, fishing maps, GPS maps and waterproof maps and place orders for custom topographic maps and lake and river charts. Backroad GPS map data is now hosted by MaxCDN, the leading content delivery network provider behind such companies as Garmin, Kodak and The Washington Times. This move offers users a better experience, with faster downloads and no downtime.

“Now, users get a fresh design, exciting content and links to our world and the world of outdoor recreation as it happens minute-to-minute across Canada,” Mussio says. “We like to get outside, and the new website and upcoming features will help our fans to get outside too, so that they can make the most of our map products.”

The new Backroad Mapbooks website also directs users to the BRMB social media experience, with links to the company’s Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. Here visitors will find a number of entertaining extras and helpful tips for getting the most out of their outdoor adventures.

Mussio adds, “We are very excited about the website. We hope that our fans, old and new, will discover an even better experience with Backroad Mapbooks that will inspire them to explore all that the Canadian backcountry has to offer!”

Backroad Mapbooks was founded in 1993 by Russell Mussio and his brother Wesley, both of whom are avid backcountry explorers. The idea evolved when the brothers got lost through a maze of trails and backcountry roads around Harrison Lake in southern BC. Since then, Mussio Ventures Ltd. has become one of the top map and adventure guide publishers in Canada. The series includes GPS maps, digital maps, adventure maps and map books for British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador.
